Himalayan tahrs, wild goats with a bushy lion-style mane, are far cheaper.

Beds of flowers and greenery hide such rare animals as musk deer, tahrs, brown and black bears.

Just 4,000 lion-tailed macaques, 2,000 Nilgiri tahrs (a kind of mountain goat), and 300 grizzled mountain squirrels now remain in India's Western Ghats, a southwestern mountain range designated one of the world's 19 "biodiversity hotspots" by Conservation International.

According to experts, there are now likely fewer than 3,000 breeding-age Arabian Tahrs surviving in the wild and perhaps the only healthy population on the planet is the herd here in the Wadi Sireen Nature Reserve in Oman.
