The O-alkyl (2-18) derivatives were obtained in high yields on refluxing a solution of 1 in 4% methanolicNaOH with alkyl halides (ethyl bromide, butyl bromide, isobutyl bromide, pentyl bromide, hexyl bromide, heptyl chloride, octyl bromide,
nonyl chloride, decyl chloride, allyl bromide, benzyl chloride, 2-iodobenzyl bromide, 3-iodobenzyl bromide, 4-iodobenzyl bromide, 2-nitrobenzyl bromide, 3-nitrobenzyl bromide and 4-nitrobenzyl bromide) and work up.
The hydrophilic part may be ionic (e.g., sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS) having a clearly electrostatic stabilizing mechanism), nonionic (ethoxylated
nonyl phenol), or amphoteric (proteins), emphasizing that the mechanism by which they perform the stabilization can be electrostatic or steric.
"Waterborne resin systems are now a much more attractive prospect because they exhibit much less outgassing behavior, are unlikely to dust, and are made without the VOCs,
nonyl phenols, solvents, and other potentially harmful ingredients found in many other flooring materials," he says.
Briefly, hippocampal tissue was dissected and homogenized in cold lysis buffer containing 25 mM Tris HCl pH 7.6, 150 mM NaCl, 1%
nonyl phenoxypolyethoxylethanol, 1% sodium deoxycholate, 0.1% sodium dodecyl sulfate, (Thermo Scientific, MA, USA), and protease and phosphatase inhibitor cocktail solutions (GenDEPOT, TX, USA).
For intracellular EpCAM staining, cells were fixed with 4% paraformaldehyde for 15 min, washed with PBS (pH 7.4), and permeabilized in PBS (pH 7.4)/0.2%
nonyl phenoxypolyethoxylethanol (Sigma-Aldrich) for 20 min.
Ultra LITE diluents can replace substances of concern such as unfriendly glycidyl ethers and
nonyl phenol.
Some neutral compounds, exemplified by methyl
nonyl ketone, have peculiar odors that can evoke a strong reaction.
The increase of the CAP-A content slightly decreased the mechanical properties of the cured films, presumably because the coating was plasticized by CAP-A having the flexible
nonyl chain.
The treatments were composed of the following commercial products: Bioalho[R] (garlic extract 700mL [L.sup.-1], Natural Rural Co.), Dormex[R] ([H.sub.2]C[N.sub.2] 490g [L.sup.-1], Basf Co.) and Hiraguen-S[R] (
Nonyl phenoxy poly (ethylene oxy) ethanol 200g [L.sup.-1], Hirarabras Co.).
The commercial adjuvant tested, selected arbitrarily, were dodecyl benzene with N at 172.5g x [1.sup.-1] and [P.sub.2][O.sub.5] at 46.0g x [1.sup.-1] (Imantic[R], Bac Science) at 50ml per 100 liters, phosphatidilcoline propionic acid (LI700[R], De Sangosse) at 200ml per 100 liters, and
nonyl phenol ethoxylate (Anti-deriva[R], Inquima) at 100ml per 100 liters of water.
