Acacia catechu contains flavonoids; kaempferol, quercetin, catechin, and terpene; camphor and
phytol. [27]
Revinage is rich in
phytol, a precursor of phytanic acid, that is a ligand of Retinoid X Receptor (RXR) as shown by in silico studies.
tenuiflorus using GC-MS analysis were
phytol, mosloflavone, N-hexadecanoic acid, Beta-D-glucopyranose, 1.6-anhydro and gamma sitosterol along with other minor phytoconstituents (Figure 4, Table 2).
The leaf of Anredera cordifolia contains compounds such as
phytol, alpha-pinene, 6,10,14-trimethyl pentadecanone, neophytadiene, methyl hexadecanoate, methyl-9,12,15-octadecatrienoate, methyl-9,12-octadeca dienoate, and C-flavoneglycosides [9].
Thus, although we did not perform the direct analysis of chlorophyll content, changes in its amount are not excluded since gibberellin and
phytol compounds can be originated from the same precursor (Fletcher et al., 2010; Taiz & Zeiger, 2010).

oleracea (wild cabbage) detected by picrate test--New
Phytol. 81(1): 189-200.
Among them, the most prevailing major compounds were
phytol, a diterpene (peak area: 38.24%) (Figure 4(a)), carane, a terpene (peak area: 18.76%) (Figure 4(b)), and 1-octanamine, an aliphatic amine (peak area: 16.16%).
There is a seasonal variation in the concentration of 7-heptadecene and
phytol in marine algae.
Its active ingredients including
phytol and its derivative, hexadecanoic acid, 1-hexadecene, and pheophorbide related compounds have shown some promising results as anticancer when whole extracts have been used.
