The overall morphological similarity of Oreobolopsis and Trichophorum has already been reported (Dhooge 2005), the only consistent difference being the scale-like perianth segments of Oreobolopsis, versus the
setiform or absent perianth of Trichophorum.
Gonocoxite with a basal tuft of bristles and gonostyle with four well-developed spines with the presence of a preapical
setiform spine and paramere simple, without protuberance in the pre-apical region of the ventral margin, epandrial lobe with rounded apex and narrower than the gonocoxite.
Pedicellate spikelet glabrous on both sides of the midnerve and alternately pilose and glabrous in the remaining zones with long translucent to whitish
setiform hairs.
is attributed to Geddes' (1968) group B by the presence of five
setiform elements on the P5 exopod, located either apically or on the inner edge.
Prothoracic spiracle
setiform and well developed (length: 0.23 mm).
Prothoracic spiracle (Figure 3) elongate: 0.35-0.42 mm long (n = 9),
setiform, and sclerotized.
Pileocystidia 50-100 x 2.5-3.3 um, cylindrical to
setiform, scattered.
Diagnosis: body size 481-531 x 298-348; rostrum rounded; rudimentary translamellar line; prolamellar lines absent; prodorsal setae
setiform, barbed; sensilli spindle-form, ciliate; exobothridial setae short; one pair of notogastral setaep1 present; sacculi Sa, S1 with elongate openings, S2, S3 with rounded openings; ventral setae
setiform, slightly barbed, and with little difference in length; leg claws serrate on dorsal side.
Legs: Long and slender, femora slightly curved with distinct trochanters; tibiae straight, protibial comb present; tarsi two-segmented, claws with
setiform pulvilli.
