Lauory lchloride is produced by mixing of fatty or lauric acid with an excess of
thionyl chloride followed by separating crude fatty acid by hydrolyzing the unreacted phosphorous chloride.
Thionyl chloride (15 mL) was added to 0.01 mol corresponding acids.
Potassium permanganate, sodium nitrate (NaN03), concentrated sulfuric acid ([H.sub.2]S04), Ni[Cl.sub.2].6[H.sub.2]O, l-ethyl-3-methylpyridinium bis (trifluoromethylsulfonyl) imide, polyvinylacetate, Ethylenediamine (ED), Hydrazine hydrate 60%, lithium chloride, 2-(7-aza-1 H-benzotriazole-1 yl)-1,1,3,3-tetramethyluronium hexafluorophosphate, cellulose fibrous, and
thionyl chloride were all purchased from Aldrich.

thionyl chloride (>99%), 2-thiophenemethanol (>99%), 3-octylthiophene (>97%) and anhydrous iron(III)oxide (>97%) (all purchased from Sigma-Aldrich Chemie GmbH, Darmstadt, Germany).
