That 42 mm driver is already reviewed as rich and detailed, ANC is proven, and the swappable battery is the long term play Nothing has not shown.
If the Pro’s triple driver and Metropolis tune actually land, it can fight the Momentum 5 on features and maybe isolation.
If they do not, you are paying flagship money for a first Pro that Sennheiser already beat on music.

Best foldable for movies

Displays look different in person, so try these foldables yourself before you buy. Brightness, color, crease, speakers, and how a movie fills the screen all change depending on the room and how you hold the phone.

None of them have a true 4K screen, so a 4K film is always scaled down. What you notice is size, HDR, and letterboxing. The iPhone Duo is the strongest for movies: Dolby Vision, consistent color, an under-display inner camera, and a 7.6-inch inner panel that is a bit wider, so widescreen films get fewer black bars. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and Pixel 11 Pro Fold are the biggest at 8.0 inches inside and 6.5 inches outside, but those screens are squarer, so more of the glass is unused. The regular Galaxy Z Fold 8 is also 7.6 inches and is the better Samsung for video than the Ultra. Biggest tape measure and best movie picture are not the same phone.

Apple names foldable Duo

Apple named its first foldable the iPhone Duo, which is a perfectly polite name for a $2,000 clamshell and also the wrong one. It folds. Call it the iFold. Duo sounds like a yogurt, a Microsoft leftover, a 1995 laptop Apple already used, or two people sharing a gym membership. iFold is the one name that tells you what the hinge does without a 40-minute keynote. Cupertino went with the grown-up option, probably because Samsung already took Fold and Apple would rather sound like a banking app than admit the phone bends. The internet had iFold ready in 2019 and was just waiting for Apple to catch up. Two thousand dollars to fold a phone in half, and they still named it after a mint.

Micron to bag big bucks

Micron stock should just go up, up, up while they bag the big bucks. People used to pay $250 for RAM and now they pay $1,500, the factories are sold out, and somebody is still hitting sell because they think demand is about to roll over. Are they stupid? Buy. Buy. Buy. The old Micron story is dead. Memory used to boom, glut, crash, and wipe out the earnings. That cycle needed PCs and phones to take a year off. Data centers, AI trainers, and robots do not take a year off, and they eat DRAM, NAND, and HBM like it is oxygen. Micron already locked the demand in with multi-year strategic customer agreements and billions in prepaid deposits; 2026 HBM is sold out, 2027 is booked, and they still cannot fill more than about half to two-thirds of what customers want. Q3 just printed about $41 billion. Q4 is guided at $50 billion. The people still waiting for the down-cycle are arguing with a sold-out factory.

Apple fold is com..not so fast Xiaomi says

Xiaomi’s 18 Fold is a China-only wide foldable: 5.38-inch cover and 7.58-inch inner screen (both 2:1, 120Hz, up to 4,000 nits), 219g, 5.02mm open, and a 6,000mAh battery with 67W wired / 50W wireless. It undercuts the Galaxy Z Fold 8 on paper in battery, peak brightness, and cameras (200MP Leica main plus 50MP 80mm periscope). Samsung’s Fold 8 is lighter at about 200–201g, already selling globally, and uses a custom Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy with a 4,800mAh cell and a slightly wider cover. Apple’s first foldable, the iPhone Ultra, is due at the September 9 event; until those specs are official, Xiaomi is the endurance play and Samsung is the one you can actually buy in the US.

The 18 Fold is also Xiaomi’s first flagship on its own 3nm XRING O3: 24 billion transistors, 10 big cores (2× 4.35GHz, 4× 3.68GHz, 4× 3.15GHz), a 16-core GPU, and LPDDR6 on 16GB models. Xiaomi’s numbers put it ahead of Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in Geekbench (about 3,945 vs 3,726 single-core; multi-core also higher). Qualcomm still has the faster modem (X85, up to 12.5Gbps vs MediaTek T900 at 7.4Gbps) and the software/app ecosystem US buyers already know. Independent reviews will settle the chip fight; the phone itself starts at about RMB 10,999 (~$1,545) and is not slated for a global launch.

Why they might not
Apple is late to AI and they picked the aluminum guy, not the software guy. If Siri stays dumb, the kiss dies. He’s untested on Cook’s world stage (China, Trump, supply chain). Ship another $3,000 Vision and no dongle, and the same fans will say he’s Cook with a better resume: locked-down, expensive, take it or leave it.

Apple stuff

Apple is leaning hard into red this fall. The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are expected to launch in Dark Cherry, a deep purplish red replacing last year's Cosmic Orange, alongside Sky Blue and Black. Apple posted the countdown on YouTube and apple.com for September 9, when the Surprise and Shine event kicks off at 10 a.m. Pacific. That is when the Pro phones and the first foldable iPhone Ultra take the stage.

Meanwhile Xiaomi's Poco X8 Power just went official in India with a 10,000 mAh silicon carbon battery for around $380. Samsung and Apple still cannot match that. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is already breaking pre order records and PhoneArena readers picked it over the iPhone Ultra by a wide margin. Expect Samsung's foldable to outsell Apple's first attempt when the dust settles.

Apple Leaks

Apple's September 9 Surprise and Shine event is expected to bring the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the first foldable iPhone Ultra. The base iPhone 18 and budget iPhone 18e are pushed to spring 2027. The Pro phones get a mechanical aperture camera, the 2nm A20 Pro chip, Apple's C2 modem, improved vapor chamber cooling, and better battery life. The iPhone Ultra is the headline: rumored at $1,999 and up, it folds to passport size with a 5.5 inch cover screen and a 7.8 inch inner display. Touch ID replaces Face ID. You get main and ultrawide cameras, not a telephoto, plus an advanced hinge and a crease shallow enough to brag about.

A second generation foldable is already in testing for 2027, mostly a chip upgrade. By 2028, a third generation grows both screens. That same 2027 window brings the 20th anniversary Pro redesign, curved glass and thinner bezels, the biggest Pro shakeup since the iPhone X.

Walmart food recalls Again and Again

Walmart is back in the recall headlines. Chilean supplier Frutas y Hortalizas del Sur expanded a July alert to include Great Value Organic Triple Berry Blend, lot 6040 01-6, best by February 9, 2028, sold in 16 states. The fear is E. coli O145:H28, tied to 17 illnesses and six hospitalizations in Georgia and Florida. Walmart says this lot has no confirmed cases yet. Cold comfort when it is already in your freezer.

Walmart loves the excuse that it recalls more because it sells more. Volume does not explain a pattern this ugly. In 2026, Great Value cottage cheese was pulled in over 20 states for pasteurization failures. In 2025, recalls hit Great Value frozen shrimp, Marketside broccoli for listeria, and Great Value chicken broth over sterility risks. Ready to eat chicken under the Great Value banner has been in the cycle too. Other big grocers do not show up in the FDA feed like a broken fire alarm.

At some point this stops being bad luck. It is cheap sourcing, thin oversight, and a Great Value label on the box. Check your freezer and ask why Walmart groceries still feel like the bargain bin of American food.

Part 2 Strauss Zelnick Again

Borderlands 4 should have been a victory lap. Instead Take-Two and 2K treated paying customers like suspects. Denuvo, anti-tamper layers, account friction, and EULA overhead on a $70 to $100 game. Buyers got long loads, crashes, stutter, and installs that fight back, while cracked copies skipped all of it. You did not stop piracy. You punished people with a receipt.

Fight through that and the game still does not reward you. Borderlands 4 plays like Borderlands 3 repackaged: same loop, same tone, no spark, no risk. They spent their energy on copyright and DRM instead of fun and creativity, and you feel the spreadsheet, not the love.

GTA VI already makes me cringe. I have lost respect for Take-Two. Rockstar still has talent, but I do not trust this parent company to protect what made GTA special, only the revenue stream. Strauss Zelnick moving stock as the hype peaks is hard to ignore. I wonder if they can pull it off, or if fans finally stop giving Take-Two a pass on the series that built them.

As someone trying to find my own way in life, build things, and grow into a real leader, I pay attention to leadership. I watch business leaders, company builders, Wall Street people, and investors like Warren Buffett. I watch how serious people carry themselves when the stakes are high. Then I look at Strauss Zelnick and I honestly cannot believe this is supposed to be leadership. Right before what could be the biggest game launch of all time, he sells stock and sends exactly the wrong signal at exactly the wrong moment. My reaction was basically, what the hell is this guy doing? There is no way this is what strong leadership looks like. A real leader protects momentum, protects confidence, and understands perception. This move did the opposite. It looked selfish, short-sighted, and unbelievably tone-deaf. Instead of making people more excited for Grand Theft Auto VI, it gave doubters fresh ammunition and pushed even some loyal buyers, including me, from all-in to wait-and-see. That is not the mark of a leader. That is the kind of mistake that makes people question whether the man at the top has completely lost his instincts.

What’s new is cameras in the stems, not better sound. Each bud gets a small camera, about 1 megapixel, left and right working as a pair. They are not for Instagram. They feed Visual Intelligence and Siri. You look at a book, a sign, or some other thing and ask Siri to save it or explain it. The leaked demo is a guy holding up a book and Siri saying see something you like, ask me to save it. Passive mode sends low resolution frames so Siri has a rough idea of what is in front of you. Active mode takes clearer stills when you actually ask. There is no video. The frames go to Visual Intelligence, not the Photos app. Some of the work happens on the buds, and they adjust when your head moves. They look like AirPods Pro 3 with fatter, longer stems so the sensors fit. If hair covers the stems you get a hair detected error. A light is supposed to come on when the cameras are on. You need an iPhone that runs Apple Intelligence. Gurman says they will not ship until 2027 because Siri and the supply chain were not ready in 2026. Same earbuds, now they can see. People will call them spy buds. Apple says they are just eyes for Siri. The cameras sit on the stem by your jaw and point forward, not out of your ear. Hold a book up and both stems can see it. They miss what is behind you, above you, or buried under hair and hats. Point your face at a thing and ask Siri what it is. That is the whole point.

Apple and AI

Phone AI is crying because they are all bad. Is AI truly integrated into smartphones? A real test would be to tell your phone, whether it's a Pixel, Samsung Z Fold, or iPhone, to add a contact with two phone numbers, a mobile and a home number. Then tell it that you got the numbers backwards and ask it to swap them so the mobile becomes the home number and the home becomes the mobile. If the AI is genuinely integrated into the phone's operating system and apps, it should be able to handle that without you touching the screen. How deeply is AI actually built into these phones, and are they advanced enough to handle the everyday tasks that come up when using the phone's features and apps? That's the real question. The truth is, none of them, Pixel, Samsung, or iPhone, have AI integrated deeply enough into their apps and operating systems to handle tasks like this reliably. So Apple isn't as far behind as you might think. With the resources Apple has, they have every chance to catch up fast and potentially leapfrog the competition when they decide to go all in.

NZXT Pre-Built PCs: Never Again

I bought an NZXT pre-built PC and these people couldn't even plug a fan cable into the right port before shipping it out. One cable. One port. They couldn't manage it. After every BIOS update I'd get a CPU fan not recognized error on boot — tried everything, eventually just set the fan to "Ignore" in BIOS and moved on. Then I updated the BIOS again recently and the same damn thing happened, so I got mad enough to actually dig into it. I opened the case and found the AIO cooler cable plugged into CHA_FAN — a chassis fan port — not the CPU_FAN header above the RAM where it actually belongs. Moved the cable. Fan recognized. Problem solved. Two seconds. But here's what really angers the hell out of me — this had been running wrong for years. Because the fan wasn't properly recognized, NZXT CAM couldn't control the RPM, and my CPU was running hotter than it should have been the entire time, all because some assembler plugged one cable into the wrong port and shipped it out the door. Best Buy would have charged $150 just to look at it and probably $300 more before some tech finally noticed a misplaced cable. NZXT, you are done in my world. You plugged a cable into the wrong port and shipped it. That's not a glitch. That's incompetence. I will never buy another NZXT product as long as I live. You had one job.

iPhone 18 Pro & Ultra: A20 Pro Chip Shortage

Starlink Attacks

Starlink has grown to roughly 12 million subscribers worldwide, including about 3 million in the U.S., and Oppenheimer projects that U.S. subscribers could reach 15 million by 2030, a fivefold increase from current levels. The firm estimates the total communications market at $1.6 trillion, consisting of roughly $870 billion in broadband and $740 billion in mobile services.

Financially, Starlink generated approximately $11.4 billion in revenue during 2025, while SpaceX's connectivity business produced about $7.2 billion in EBITDA. Analysts believe Starlink's next phase of growth will be driven by its upcoming V3 satellites, which are expected to begin deployment in the second half of 2026.

Nvidia and the AI stocks had good earnings. The stocks seemed poised to keep growing and making me money. Yet not so fast! I keep reading big whales are selling stocks. Users avoid Pixel phones if they want a gaming phone they do buy Pixel for the AI and other features like computational photography, real-time translation, and voice recognition, Magic Eraser, exclusive real-time voice call screening and advanced photo processing, and have better battery life.

Company Fired by Meta for Ray-Ban Leak

Whistleblowers revealed that footage from Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses was being reviewed by human contractors in Kenya, including highly private moments. These workers were employed through an outsourcing company called Sama to help train Meta’s AI systems. After the revelations became public, Meta terminated its contract with the company, which resulted in more than 1,100 workers losing their jobs. Reports indicate the firings may have been retaliation tied to the workers speaking out about the privacy concerns.

What Will the AI Stocks Do

Intel has moved from $40 to $95 in a month. So much potential for Intel but it already hit $99. Intel is no TSMC but its catching up fast but TSMC is building quite fast as well. And the Warren Buffet Indicator says the whole stock market is over bought. Is AI for real or is it a bubble about to pop? And what about robotics? It is so complex and hard to know what to do now. AMD and Nvidia will report earnings soon so do you sit it out or buy and ride the wave up or down. Intel was an easy pick. Making money on these AI stocks now just got harder.

Intel Stock Soars

Intel stock has gone from $40 to $85 due to the 18A process they succeeded in rolling out. Intel is now back to competing with TSMC who is a super giant. While intel is no TSMC they have an incredible amount of potential and now they just need to focus on creating the wafers and the customers will come. Now is Intel still undervalued? No idea now. I just knew it was at $40. If you look at how much better TSMC is then Intel you will say it is priced about right. But if Intel keeps on rolling they will grow by 50% a year and hopefully the stock does to.
I am also watching Take Two as they will have GTA 6 out this year and that game could be the biggest game of all time and send there stock into a double from $190 to over $300.

Photos from the ultrawide, mid zoom, and selfie cameras appear very similar to the previous model, indicating that most of the noticeable differences come from refined image processing and tuning instead of completely new camera hardware. I do like the photos coming from the Ultra a lot.

When the feature is turned on, the phone adjusts how its pixels emit light so that only someone looking directly at the screen sees the content clearly while side-angle viewers see a much darker or blacked-out display, and you can even choose to apply this effect only for specific apps or parts of the screen such as notifications or password fields.

A new Apple phishing scam is tricking users by piggybacking on real Apple Support tickets. Victims first get unexpected 2FA codes, then a call from someone calmly posing as Apple Support, claiming their account is under attack. After guiding the user to reset their Apple ID, the scammers send a text linking to a fake Apple-lookalike site and ask for the verification code. Once the victim enters it, the attackers use that code to break into the account. The scam works because anyone can open a legit-looking Apple support ticket in someone else’s name. To stay safe, ignore unsolicited calls or texts, never give out verification codes, double-check website links, and contact Apple directly if something feels off.

Apple foldable iFold Leaks

Apple’s upcoming foldable iPhone is shaping up to be a premium, book-style device built around two OLED displays—a compact outer screen and a large 7.8-inch inner panel with a reduced crease and smooth 120 Hz performance. Leaks point to a dual 48MP rear camera system, an under-display selfie camera, and a hole-punch camera on the cover screen. Inmates Jammed New Orleans Jail Locks with Scrabble Tiles Before Escape

For two months leading up to a May jailbreak, inmates at the Orleans Parish jail regularly jammed cell door locks with everything from tissue and socks to deodorant caps and even Scrabble tiles, according to maintenance records. The tampering caused frequent breakdowns — workers were fixing doors about twice a day.
On May 15, a maintenance worker warned that “NONE OF THE DOORS WANT TO CLOSE.” The next day, 10 inmates forced open a sliding cell door and escaped; nine were caught, but convicted murderer Derrick Groves remains at large.
Sheriff Susan Hutson wants to replace the jail’s sliding doors with high-security electromechanical locks, a project that could cost up to $15 million. The funds would come from recently approved bonds, which Hutson says will be used entirely for security upgrades.

Tesla new Pi phone will have solar charging to add 3 to 5 hours in battery life. Starlink satellite connectivity for global internet access, self-healing capabilities, and the ability to control Tesla vehicles and Optimus robots. It also features an AI-powered camera system, and a no-tracking policy with local biometric data storage. The Tesla OS prioritizes speed and usability, allowing users to download and install apps from any source.

Apple's foldable iPhone moves closer to a 2026 launch with a production of 20 million foldable iPhones. The specs, features, and prices remain a closely guarded secret. Rumors are that Samsung will make the screens and there will be no crease in the middle. Rumor on the price is above $2000. Time frame is around September 2026.

1) "QUIXOTRY" (365 points): In 1982 Karl Khoshnaw played the word "QUIXOTRY" across two triple-word score squares, using all seven of his tiles. This resulted in a record-breaking 365 points, which still stands as one of the highest single-turn scores in Scrabble history.
2) "CAZIQUES" (392 points): In 1982, Dr. Saladin Karl Khoshnaw made another legendary play by extending "CAZIQUE" into "CAZIQUES" across two triple-word score squares. This play earned him an astounding 392 points, setting a record for the highest single-turn score at the time.
3) "OXYPHENBUTAZONE" (1778 points): In a staged game in 1982 by Dr. Karl Khoshnaw, who played "OXYPHENBUTAZONE" across two triple-word score squares, utilizing all seven tiles and earning a total of 1778 points.
4) "QUIZZIFY" (419 points): In 2006, Michael Cresta and Wayne Yorra set a record for the highest non-bingo word score in tournament play with the word "QUIZZIFY." This play utilized two triple-word score squares and a high-value letter Q on a double letter score.

More than 100 students competed in the North American School Scrabble Championship at Planet Word Museum in Washington DC. Eight games over two days were played plus a championship final. Many bingos were played: CRYPTID, PHARYNX, AEQUORIN, SUASIVE, TOTALISM, LANGUETS, IDOLATRY, OXTAILS, STUFFIE—were a few that were played. 12th-grader Cherish Amby-Okolo of Houston with a record of 7-1 and a point spread of +739 faced off verses 10th-grader Gideon Brosowsky who finished second at 6-2 +477. Gideon started off with bingo, PLUGGED for 76 points. Cherish PLUSSES for 89 , ANTIWAR for 75 and ZONES for 78. Cherish went on to win 513-285.

Hasbro is now accepting nominations for new words that might be added to the The Official Scrabble Players Dictionary. Enter your word nominations via Hasbro's Game Night Facebook page. "These nominations could include fan favorites that haven't been made official yet, or a new word that's become popular since the last edition of the dictionary was published in 2005," reads a statement published by Hasbro. Fan will narrow down sixteen of the submitted words via voting starting April 2 with a winner revealed on April 10. The winnning word will be included in the fifth edition of Merriam-Webster's Official Scrabble Players Dictionary, coming in August.

Teen kicked out of SCRABBLEE® Tournament for cheating.

For the first time ever a player has been kicked out of the National SCRABBLE Championship Tournament. The player did not use his blank tiles in his first game. So he put them in his pockets to use them in the next game. But his opponent asked for the tiles to be counted and it came up two tiles short. After questioning the player admitted to cheating and was kicked out. How many times has this been successfully pulled off we don't know. But always count the tiles before a game. Oh we can't wait for the story of a player using wireless earplugs to receive words from a remote person watching with binoculars and feeding words from ScrabbleCheat.com

At the World Scrabble Championship a 'g' tile came up missing during the game.
A Thai player claimed that Ed Martin hid a letter "G" during their match.
He demanded Martin be strip searched, but authorities refused the request.
Martin ended up winning the game but Nigel Richards, a New Zealander, won the first place and took home $20,000.

The Elyria Chronicle-Telegram apologized a day after the anti Semitic epithet 'jewed' appeared in a SCRABBLE® tournament story. 'We made a mistake' read page two of Tuesday's edition. The photo shows the winner lying next to a Scrabble board with tiles he used in the game. 'Jewed' appears in the bottom right corner of the playing board. A highly offensive term.

SCRABBLE® hits the iphone and ipad groups are once again fighting over what dictionary to use. Seems blacks, hebrews, women, all have words they want out of the dictionary. They have an uphill battle proving a word is offensive since these dictionaries have been around for so long.

Crosswords.net Sells for $15K. Earlier CrosswordPuzzles.com was bought by Frank Schilling for $215,000. With proper development they can make huge money because Google shows 450,000 user searches per month. A well designed site to keep users attention for 5 to 10 minutes will let them display 5 or 6 ads and rake in $20,000 a month probably. In two years they would have their money back and from then on its pure profit. Great buy imo.

Hasbro Terminating support for tournaments

Either tough economic times or they just can't get along, but Hasbro is pulling support for club and tournament Scrabble effective January 1, 2010. A steering committee that had met with Hasbro executives in December has transitioned into finding a new name and logo and exploring legal options as to whether into becoming a not-for-profit Hasbro licensee. By the end of 2009 the new players organization will be in total charge of all club and tournament activitites.
