11-10-2022 - My guide to an easy lawn
After years of youtubing and listening to the lawn experts I just settled for a cheap lawn. For one I have clay soil and nothing grows in it. So I set off to figure out what grass would grow. In this video I show how I found the seed type and test location and results and then you can find a place to buy the seed. Note these seeds are expensive and I found out most bags are a blend of four types of seed. The seed I bought did great in my clay soil and now I just want to maintain it cheaply.
You can buy cheap soil test kits on amazon or one where you put the dirt in a bag and send it off to a company for a full report. This report will tell you what your yard needs the most. My yard always needs nitrogen because of the hard clay and hill.
1) In early spring I use a pre-emergent to keep weed seeds from growing
2) Light fertilizer down at first and then more as needed
3) Add kelp or other soil and root stimulants to help the grass grow. I used RGS and Humic12 by NEXT but I plan to find cheaper alternatives now that the lawn is growing.
4) If you have weeds you will need to find the proper weed killer that doesn't kill grass.
5) Always make sure your grass gets enough water. This is of utmost importance all year round.
6) I mow once a week at 4 inches.
7) In fall I overseed which entails the following. Buying the best seed I can find in my budget, watch the video below. I pay someone to aerorate my lawn but with clay I will buy a manual aerotor pole thingy and do it manually and get far better results and yes I will pay someone to help me do this as its hard.
7b) Next in the overseeding process I had already cut the grass to a low 2 1/2 inches to help the new seed get sunlight. So I put down the seed and then spread some soil mixed with peat moss lightly on top of the seed to help it grow. This year I might just cover it the Dumas chicken feed and that would save a step and it fertilizes the yard. I also put down a starter fertilizer. Then I applied my RGS products and anything I have to help seeds grow. Then I just water it lightly three times a day for a week to get the seeds sprouted. Yes I did use the landzie spreader but if my idea of just putting down the chicken feed as a cover and fertilizer works I won't need the Landzie. If I was doing a new lawn I would use a Landzie to spread compost and top soil on the lawn.
8) Then I rest and water and wait two weeks or more before mowing or I risk ruining my overseeding.
Nine) Yea my nine key is broken. When winter comes I mow at 2 1/2 inches on my last mow of the year as experts recommend this as tall grass in winter can get matted and this avoids that problem.
Misc) There are products that hold the moisture in which is good for overseeding. I used Seed Success and there are many products to choose from. I think they work as I want to retain as much water as I can for the seeds. Overseeding you can use compost soil and/or mix in peat moss as well.

I just remember a girl named Melissa turning me down before I even asked her out. It must have been that obvious. I gotta admit it was good call but aren't the rules you have to wait until you are asked first.

This video is for the angry Non Vaxxer I met who was super angry. I am sure these meetings happen weekly and oh boy do they raise a lot of questions that we know will never be answered by our government.
I chose to get Novavax as it is the only protein based vaccine that won't mess with my DNA. I feel great and have no pain after two weeks. But I choose my own way. Other people can make their own choices. My accountant has chosen to stay a non vaxxer. Everyone makes their own choice as the judges recently ruled. I think many more people will choose Novavax vaccine for Covid as more people learn how safe it is and those that choose not to get a vaccine are OK with me to.

I was at local pool and resting and a group of autistic and other special needs kid came in and I just watched them. Two got into a water fight because one said the other was to close to him which they explained was because everyone was told to line up. The others were having an incredible amount of fun and I had more fun just watching them have fun. I wish there were more organizations to help kids out. I can see why it takes a very caring person and trained to handle kids with patience and understanding of these needs. We let politicians waste our money and no one can trust anyone. Yet this small organization is able to donate their time and help twenty kids in the community have a really fun day. God bless you all for all you do. It really made my day very blessed.
