Neuron-spesific
enolase as a marker of the severity and outcome of hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy.
KEYWORDS: Association; Serum; Neuron-specific
enolase; Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
NSE is the [gamma] isoform of the glycolytic enzyme
enolase, which is highly concentrated within the brain and cells of neuroendocrine origin (2).
Postnatal diagnosis of cystic neuroblastoma requires laboratory tests to determine neuron-specific
enolase, catecholamines in 24-h urine, and MRI of the abdomen (4).
They are positive for synaptophysin, chromogranin, and neuron-specific
enolase (1, 2, 11).
Neurone-specific
enolase, chromogranin, CD56, immunoperoxidase, synaptophysin, epithelial membrane antigen, calcitonin, and bombesin stains may be useful to establish the diagnosis.12

(b) Neuron specific
enolase (NSE) marking the single ganglion cell in gastric biopsy (NSE 40x).
(3) Diffusion of the venom in the prey--chitinase,
enolase, annexin B9, and actin: the process of diffusion of the constituents of the venom [46].

Levels of neuron-specific
enolase and [alpha]-fetoprotein were both elevated, at 24.7 ng/ml (normal range (NR) < 16.3 ng/ml) and 56 ng/ml (NR < 10 ng/ml), respectively.
