It's a domesticated and hooved grass and grain eater with a tail, big eyes and a
tannable hide, just like the cattle that most of us consume.
And, because the weather doesn't always provide us with enough sunshine to get a natural tan, even if you had lovely,
tannable skin, you would still be pale.
In addition, prolonged incubations can result in the auto-oxidation of the substrate and condensation of the resulting quinone with
tannable proteins to give a brown coloration, thereby producing a false positive pseudo-enzyme reaction (Nellaiappan & Vinayakam 1986).
